Treatment update, Ted Grossbart, Facebook debates, Dead Sea and the Blog

Sorry, again….

I’ve had a number of comments asking for updates andĀ I know it’s been a long time since the last post relating to my treatment. My work has been very hectic and I’m in the process of changing jobs. The timing has all come together pretty well, I finish my old job on the day I fly out to Jordan for the Dead Sea Treatment with Dr Schallreuter, I then return and start my new job in London šŸ™‚

So, when I returned from Germany and from my consultation with Dr Schallreuter, I ordered a Dermalight 80 UVB lamp and started a half arsed photo-therapy treatment. I say half arsed because I didn’t order any of the PC-KUS Pseudocatalase cream, I only used the lamp. In truth, this was probably due to my cynicism towards the effectiveness of the cream but now I think about it, after spending Ā£1000 to go to Germany and a I’ll be spending a further Ā£3000 on the treatment at Dead Sea it’s seems counter productive not spend an extra 90 Euro per bottle and use it to follow Ā Dr Schallreuter’s treatment plan properly. I’ve ordered two bottles to take with me to the Dead Sea.

UK Vitiligo singles required for TV Show on Discovery Channel

Twice in two months I’ve been contacted regarding TV shows looking to cast people suffering from Vitiligo. I believe it to be a good thing as it increases awareness for the condition and I sincerely hope it won’t eventually be in any bad taste.

Today I was contacted by Riddhi who is casting for a TV production company called Betty. They are looking forĀ people from the United Kingdom who are affected by Vitiligo and feel it has made dating tricky for a new series on the Discovery Channel.

Betty

It’s a very exciting opportunity but unfortunately, I’mĀ ineligible and don’t meet the criteria for the show as I’m not single. On a personal note, I also feel that others would benefit more from being selected as my Vitiligo is mild, mostly unnoticeable and I can’t say it’s ever affected me dating.

If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Riddhi on 020 7907 0897 or email Love@betty.co.uk

Dead Sea: Post consultation with Dr Karin Schallreuter

Apologies for the huge delay in getting this post up, it’s been hectic since I got back from Germany and apparently, I brought the flu back with me!

Not only that, but the last few months have been very difficult and mentally, the Vitiligo is affecting me more than ever. It could be because I’m much more aware of the condition seeing as I’m actively searching to improve it but I it just seems to be playing on my mind a bit more.

This is going to be a long one!

Dead Sea: Trip to Germany

This is only a short blog post, specifically for anyone flying from the UK to Berlin. I’m now checked into the Mercure Hotel in Greifswald in preparation for my consultation tomorrow with Dr Schallreuter.Ā Nothing really went to plan today…

Flight was booked for 9.10am via Lufthansa Airlines. I arrived at Heathrow to find my flight to Berlin had been cancelled…
