Dear Simon,
The blog is great and it’s good to see people get so much out of it. I’m not sure how much success you’ve had since you started the blog but it seems like Guru has had a ton. What do attribute to the successes? For both yourself and him. I’m sure diet and everything you do plays into the results but do you think that the cream prescribed by the Dr. and the trip to the dead were kind of the catalyst for all the re-pigmentation?
Any info you’d be willing to share would be great,
Kyle
Hi Kyle,
I’ve also had success but not on the same scale as Guru but Guru has Non-Segmental Vitiligo and I have Segmental. I think diet is incredibly important to keep a balance in the body and help resolve other issues that may in turn be triggering Vitiligo (Celiac, Hashimoto’s, etc). The PC-KUS cream is used to bring the oxidisation down in the skin which improves the chances of repigmentation.
Repigmentation results are always going to differ for everyone. Some people repigment with UVB alone, others just reducing oxidisation in the skin(Ginkgo Biloba) but I do believe the Dead Sea/Jordan Climate acts as an incredible boost. You see results a lot quicker than you would just using UVB treatments and creams at home. It’s hard to measure exactly what impact the PC-KUS is having on each individual, that’s why my preference is maintain a diet that promotes balanced oxidisation and include Ginkgo Biloba supplements.
Initial things I would always do is eliminate gluten, dairy and processed foods for at least 3 months and see if you see any improvements. Then look at UVB treatments or potentially the Jordan trip. I am aware that there are other groups that go to the Dead Sea for Vitiligo treatments that are not associated with the Prof.
Yes, for sure.
“Dead Sea Treatment by yourself (no need to see Dr. Shallreuter)”
I created this post, because despite it’s so difficult to set up an appointment with Dr.Shallreuter, it’s so easy to follow her Dead Sea treatment. You definitely don’t need to see her to do the Dead Sea treatment. You can do the same treatment as she does, at the same hotel, during 3 WEEKS, like this:
1- Book online the following hotel: http://www.booking.com/hotel/jo/dead-sea-spa.pt-pt.html?sid=fd23111…
2- Buy a ticket to Jordan. Usually you don’t need a previous Visa, but you will have to pay for a Visa as soon as you get to the airport.
3-Then you rent a car at the airport and go to Dead Sea resort area. It’s like one hour drive at most.
4-Take your pseudocatalase cream to the hotel. They don’t sell it there. Goto http://www.vitiligomap.com/pseudo.html and make it.
5- Everyday you have to wake up 7AM and have breakfast.
6- Take a 15 minute bath at the Dead Sea. Dr.Schallreuter suggests to use a indoor pool (with Dead Sea water) but I don’t recommend it since they don’t change this water frequently.
7- After the bath, take a shower with regular water, get dried and pass pseudocatalase cream on the white patches.
8-Right after, take a sun bath (still earlier than 9AM). Expose the white spots for 5 to 15 minutes each to the sun. Total time (all patches) can NOT be longer than 60 minutes. Dr.Schallreuter suggests to do it naked in a solarium, but you can do not naked on the beach.
9- Repeat #6, #7 and #8 at 4:30PM.
10-If you have an UVB-NB equipment, take it to the hotel. Before bed, pass the cream for the third time and expose each patch to 300 milijoules (0.3J) of UVB-NB (short time). For example, if you have a 9W Philips bulb, it irradiates 1,13mw. So, you have to expose the patches for 300 / 1,13 = 265 seconds (each).
For face patches, start with 30 seconds at most and see 12 hours later if the patches has got a little bit pink. If not, increase exposure time in 10 seconds. If they’ve got, keep time as it is.
11-If you have an UVB-NB equipment, also take an European outlet adapter since the American outlet jack is strait and the Jordan (European style) is rounded. The AC power in Jordan is 220VAC. So, if you have a 110VAC UVB-NB equipment, there is just one 110VAC outlet in the bathroom. You will need additionally to the adapter, also an extension cord.
12- After 3 weeks, you will definitely see some improvement.
13-I also suggest you to take anti-oxidant pills: Alpha Lipoic Acid, L-Methionine and L-Cysteine (or NAC).
14- Don’t go to the swiming pools, since they have chlorine.
15- Get AWAY from the sun between 10AM and 4:30PM.
Good Luck!
Hi Flavio,
Does it work out much cheaper to go alone than it does to go with Prof. ??
Im 23 years old, do you think it is safe for me to go alone?
Can you get to the hotel by Taxi or Coach?
One more… I can’t take my lamp as i have the stand up one, do i need to buy a small hand held to take with me?
KR
Daisy
Daisy, it’s much more affordable. I’m talking about US$ 2,000.00 total trip.
Jordan is quite safe. Very peaceful people. I recommend you to stay at the hotel resort area, since you are alone.
Either cab or car rental.
You don’t need to take a Lamp. That’s an option. Sun baths there are more than enough.
I am a patient of Dr Schallreuter and I am a bit alarmed by the comments posted by one of the bloggers advising people to make their own pseudocatalase and giving out treatment plans, many of his comments are in direct contrast to Dr Schallreuter’s indications and seem possibly unsafe. The idea of bringing a sun lamp to the Dead Sea seems rather peculiar, as there is so much UVB radiation there already, also the times for sun exposure at the Dead Sea he recommends do not make any sense as these are entirely dependent on the time of year, for example May is different from October etc. and from November to March there is not sufficient UVB at all. I have gone to the Dead Sea on my own following Dr Schallreuter’s instructions, my schedule didn’t work with the group dates, but I would definitely recommend going with the group if you can because you will be receiving feed back all the time, I missed having the supervision of the dr and her team. Please do check with Prof. schallreuter before you change anything to the treatment plan she prescribed for you.
I think everybody should see Dr. Schallreuter. Unfortunately, she is not available to everybody.
The pseudocatalase cream described at http://www.vitiligomap.com/pseudo.html or
http://www.fightingvitiligo.com/The%20Cream
or in her patent claim at http://www.docstoc.com/docs/47449007/Composition-And-Method-Of-Treating-Depigmentation-Disorders—Patent-5433942
All above are the same cream as she sells. I used hers and the one that made and I can tell you it’s the same. Same results.
Regarding bringing the UVB-NB hand held to the hotel is an option. I did this and it helped me, because I was using it before the Dead Sea treatment. Different from people that never were exposed to this Lamp before.
So, if one can see Dr. Schallreuter, I strongly recommend to do it.
If one can’t see her, for any reason, her treatment can be done in the same level for much le$$, as described in this forum.
I forgot to mention that Dr. Schallreuter keeps saying that anyone is able to make her pseudocatalase cream. The reason is, of course, she wants to sell it exclusively. I bought her pseudocatalase cream, through a patient of hers, and I compared to the one I made. The comparison method is widely described in the internet. You need throw 1 drop of cream over 10 drops of hydrogen peroxide (on a plate).
After a few minutes, the result has to be like:

Flavio,
I’m interested in step 10 – was this the recommendation of the Prof?
As far as I was aware, nobody was doing this out there with our group. Only in the morning and afternoon in the Solarium.
Simon.
Good question. It’s a plus. I met a guy there that took a hand held to Jordan. As well as I did.
Prof. doesn’t mention anything about it, since she says that sun baths are more than enough there.
On the other hand, this guy asked her about it and she said it would be fine (not necessary).
In my point of view, if one currently follows an UVB-NB phototherapy, they should take it to fell even more secure. For the others, that are not following currently phototherapy, don’t take it.
Hi Simon,
have u seen anyone got repigmentated on their lips and hands. Because I have vitiligo on same areas.
thank u,
kirisha
Hi Kirisha,
Thanks for the comment.
Yes, I’ve seen repigmentation on lips and hands but both areas are hard to repigment.
Simon.
Kirisha
As Simon said, hands are tough. 2 reasons may explain that:
1- Lack of hair follicles (the main melanocyte reservoirs), what makes melanocyte migration restricted from the lesion borders only.
2- The frequent traumas and friction that hands are submitted to in daily activities. New researches point to the fact that it produces a protein that detaches melanocytes from the basal membrane, causing white patches.
So, every non-hairy region has the following problem. a population of this protein tries to spread (increase the white spot). From the lesion border, melanocytes try to migrate naturally to the patches. It’s a constant fight. If vitiligo is spreading, means the the protein is winning. If patch is stable, means that the protein is contained. To win the fight and shrink the patch, you have to combine things like: UVB-NB, pseudocatalase (reduce skin oxidative stress), diet, life style, vitaamins, anti-oxidants, protopic, etc to improve your success chance. Please also see http://www.vitiligomap.com for more details.
Regards.
Hi Simon & Flavio
Thank You so much for your responses.
I have made an appointment to see Dr. Schallreuter on Feb 04, 2014. I hope everything will go okay.
Great !
Please let me know what anti-oxidant she will suggest to you.
Last time I had this info, it was in German (L-Methionine+Alpha Lipoid Acid+L-Cysteine) so that I’d like to double check it.
Regards,
Flavio Corgem
Good Luck.
Flavio
yes, I will let you know.
thank you
Thanks.
Hi Simon,
Did you had a chance to speak with dr. Bordignon?
Waiting for the next post 😉
Hi Lee,
Schedules have conflicted but I’m looking to speak with Dr. Bordignon in the near future.
Regards
Simon.
Hi Simon
We have been treating our sons vitiligo with prof S ‘s regime for 5 months – very minimal response . He only has limited disease mostly around eyes and few other small spots.
I wanted to go to Jordan , but was too scared with the security situation. Feel quite discouraged as we had high hopes.
How long have people taken to show response ?
How old is he?
Are you following a Functional treatment?
How many times are you applying PC-KUS?
Is he doing UVB-NB phototherapy?
Is is a stand-up machine?
What anti-oxidant is he taking?
Is he avoiding gluten, dairy or something else?
Did you check his gut?
3/4 months are enough to start seeing some improvements.
Maybe you should add something else in his regime.
Please check http://www.vitiligomap.com/protocol.html.
He is 10 . We are only avoiding turmeric as that is what Prof said . There is definite response for his small spots on his knee and axilla. The eye and lip spots are the once not responding .
What do you mean by checking his gut ?
Is your son completely cured ?
Is anyone going to Jordan ? I was planning to go , but then got scared with all the terrorist issues there
He is on PCk – twice a day . Hand held device once a day , twice for next month . Disease too limited for the stand up machine .
We just started him on the antioxidant she prescribed .
Reena
Gut (leaking intestine, food allergy, parasite, h-pylori, candida)
Hairy areas tend to have better response with pseudocatalase.
This treatment has to be combined with many other actions (Functional Treatment).
Check http://www.vitiligomap.com and http://www.vitiligomap.com/protocol.html).
My son still have vitiligo in areas like hands and feet. This areas are exposed to daily friction and traumas. That’s why it’s tough to revert.

Flavio
if use Dr Schallreuter treatment, Will it help to stop spreading vitiligo.
thank u,
kirisha
Hi Kirisha,
Pseudocatalase will help to shrink some spots for sure.
However, to stop spreading you have to follow a Functional Treatment. You can find a suggestion at http://www.vitiligomap.com/protocol.html
The only way to untrigger vitiligo (stop spreading) is taking all mentioned actions *at the same time*.
Regards,
Flavio
Flavio,
Thank you for your quick response.
You’re welcome.
Did you confirm the appointment on Feb 4th?
Flavio,
yes,i did it.
thank you
Anyone going to Jordan this year ?
Flávio
My anti-oxidant is (L-Methionine+Alpha Lipoid Acid+L-Cysteine)
Thank u
Thank you very much.
Can you send me a picture of the label to fcoragem@gmail.com.
I would like to see if there is other ingredients like magnesium stereate and so on.
Hi Reena,
I am going to dead sea in April 2015 .
Wow…
See u there !
Hi. I recently got vitiligo (Feb 2015). I have no clear reason as what caused it (physical, psychological, etc.). Im trying to control my emotions as i feel devastated because the doctor said it is progressive vitiligo type and can spread like anything. He prescribed “Vietnam D tablets” and “Vitix” regulating gel, both of which i have been using with no apparent positive impact.
While original spots might have stopped spreading, the disease are hitting other areas.
My question is: anybody tried treatments offered on the internet that claim guaranteed cure? Can anybody pleeeeease provide me with a solution, traditional or natural/herbal, etc??
Thanks a lot and God bless you.
