I’m excited to announce that I’ll be returning to Jordan in September for 25 days. It’s been a stressful year of many changes, both personal and from a career perspective and in turn my Vitiligo has gotten slightly worse. Plus, I could do with the down time!
I was going to wait until 2017 and go back for treatment alone, but by chance, the opportunity came to travel with a German group (no connection to Prof. Schallreuter as far as I can tell) called Vitiligo-Bund. All flights, hotel and medical center bookings are handled by Freimuth-Reisen, a travel agent specialising in Dead Sea trips. I believe I am the first person travelling from the UK as part of the group, and they’ve been really accommodating in helping me with flights and dates.

I’m planning to publish some video content whilst on the trip to share the experience with followers of this blog. I’m keen to share my experiences and how it compares with Prof. Schallreuter’s trip to Jordan that I attended 2 years ago.

Simon vitiligo only gets worse from stress. When the stress stops your skin recovers somewhat. Isn’t the skin trying to tell us something?

Yes there are children being treated here for Vitiligo at the Dead Sea Medical Center.
Wishing you well. I have also had a stressful year and I have watched my former stable vitiligo (stable for over 20 years!!!) spread like wildfire 🙁

Interested to hear how this experience fares! After the London meet up, I have been in touch with prof schallenreutener,..took me months to get a reply but have finally made contact. They’ve asked me for blood tests prior to an appointment so will be interesting to see if my GP is game and will support this! Waiting for docs appt before I can pursue anything with the professor. Mine too has accelerated through stress. I have been trying gluten free for the last two weeks and have noticed some pigment starting to reappear… This could be wishful thinking but I am monitoring and seeing if there is any correlation with leaky gut and autoimmune etc.. Hoping to get to the Dead Sea next year…if I could sort it with work I would be on that trip in September! Fingers crossed for positive results for you
Reena, great to hear you’ve been making some progress. The Prof is often slow to respond and the treatment process is in high demand.

Hi Reena,
I took my son to see prof schallenreutener in January, we were unable to get the one of the tests she requested so we had them done there for a small cost, 80 odd euros if I remember correctly.

Thanks Imran. I’m still awaiting a reply from the professor. Am at risk of turning into a stalker as their comms are frustrTingly slow. How is the treatment working out for your son? Hopefully progress is being made? Simon -good luck with the treatment, viewing your vlogs with interest!

Hi Reena
He’s been following the treatment protocol for a few months now and we’ve definitely seen repigmentation around the torso and limbs. Although he’s had 2 small spots appear near the eyes which was a little upsetting but one of these has now repigmented and the other is also showing signs of pigment coming back . The good news is that he’s responding to the treatment. So I feel it’s been worthwhile in going to Germany for an appointment, which took a year to get since I first made contact.
